One of my favorite things about summer is going to the Zoo! We live about 15 minutes away from our beloved Portland Zoo, so we get a pass every year and go all throughout the year! We had an amazing trip not too long ago, on one of our precious "Wow, this is what summer will be like!" days! We don't get very many of those, so EVERYBODY was at the zoo!

Though it was pretty crowded most of the time, we got there pretty early and had a...well, I can't come up with just one word to sum up how awesome an experience it was...you'll see. Anyway, we had fun with the lions, so I just finished up a layout to highlight Kya's playful morning!

Recepie:
Animal Cracker stack, DCWV
Assorted solid paper
Assorted Inks
Brads
Grosgrain Ribbon
Stickers and embellishments from Animal Cracker line, DCWV
Pictures...PRICELESS!

I hope you enjoy this project, and get a little inspiration to 1.) GO TO THE ZOO! (early!!!) and 2.) Scrap your fun memories!

From here, you should head on over to Amanda for more Hoppin' Fun!

Like everyone on this hop (posting and participating!) I can't wait for summer. I've been working on this project for quite awhile now, and it's really gotten me excited about all of my favorite things! Of course, this is my "10 Things I Love About Summer" summer project! Here goes...

The cover is a flip flop! I decorated the heck out of it with ribbon, and put the title on an Action Wobble! It's so cute- I wish you could see it in person.

Each of the pages in this mini album have one or two tickets on it, listing some of my favorite things! Each of the pockets has a space on the front that I can't wait to put pictures in! My fiance` and I are still in the midst of decorating the tags, so pardon that there aren't any close-ups of those.

The flowers are all made of the same DP as the rest of the album- I just kinda curled the edges, punched the centers for brads, and Stardust-ed up the centers!

I also used my stardust pen randomly around the edges and used my Smooch Pearlized Inks to spruce up some of the dots and flowers on the pages. I hope you liked my project! I hope you'll leave a comment with your thoughts.

Supplies:
flip flops
cardstock
double-sided DP

Ok, now it's time to go check out what Amanda's got for you!
Hope you have fun on the rest of the hop today, and I can't wait to see you again tomorrow!

Scrapbookaholic by Abby Challenge #2!

Ok, this time I'm NOT going to miss the deadline and not be able to enter the challenge! I've got the perfect project for the "Anything Spring" challenge! Here it is:

This card FEATURES Sweet Cheeks Stamps By Ashley's Scrappin Palace! This is from her Spring in Bloom line, and I LOVE it!

I really love the way this card came out- especially the Fairy! I made her using Once Upon a Princess, cut at 3 1/4, I think- and I used most of the parts for one of the princess dresses to make her look more like a fairy!

I hope you like my card! Thanks, Abby, for hosting this challenge!

Until next time...

NEW Sweet Cheeks Designs stamps

My Bestie, Ashley just came out with her own stamp line! I'm sooooo proud of her! AND I get to help her test them out! Here's one of the first projects I've made with her Hertfelt Thoughts Stamps!

My mom asked me for a card to send to a friend whom she hasn't seen in awhile; I thought what could be better than inviting her out to coffee!

The teacup was cut from Once Upon A Princess cart, pattern paper is from K&I Co Friends glitter stack, the rest of the paper is from my stash. I got the instructions/dimensions for the easel card from a tutorial on SplitCoastStampers.com.

Another idea for this card...I'm thinking of making it into a gift card holder- I think it would just be perfect with the "Love you a Latte' stamp!

Thanks for stopping by- don't forget to check out Sweet Cheeks Designs by Ashley's Scrappin' Palace!

Happy Blue-Haired Birthday!

My friend is going through a post-college graduation I'll-dye-my-hair-whatever-color-I-want phase, so when it was time to make her a birthday card, I wanted my little critter to have BLUE HAIR!!! This is what I came up with.

I used a Cuddle Bug folder for the background, along with some Craft Warehouse Dollar Bin Pearls as sprinkles.

The cupcake was cut from Once Upon A Princess, and of course I used (my Bestie's) Peachy Keen Faces (Everyday Faces, I believe) for the Beautiful Smile!

Blue Glitter cardstock played heavily, of course, and, well, I'm not sure which set the Happy Birthdy stamp came from- sorry!

Until next time!

Ashley's Anniversary Blog Hop!

It's been one year to the day since my Bestie, Ashley, began her Scrappin Palace! I'm here to help you all celebrate not just that, but the LONG AWAITED arrival of SPRING! All of our projects on this hop are spring-themed, so join the fun!

You should have gotten here from Jessica at Baking up Crafts. If you've just happened by, hop on over to Ashley at Ashley's Scrappin Palace!

I made three different spring cards for you all.
First, Rainy Day- it rains a LOT here in Oregon in the Spring, so that's the first thing I thought of for a project!

On this card, I used the Duck from Create-a-Critter cut at 3" (the galoshes and umbrella are its adorable accessories) along with the phrase from the Duck.

I used glittered cardstock for the "day" overlay on the phrase and then I used my Stardust glitter pen to trace around the letters for an extra little touch!

I picked up the droplet and flower rhinestones from Craft Warehouse awhile ago, and they are some of the best dollar bin scores I've ever had!

Next, we all look forward to SUNNY DAYS!

This Cute little birdy (same cart/size) is sportin' the phrase from the Sun!

I coordinated the papers between the two to generate some cohesion, and I added the red pearls in the center of the daisies to add some dimension!

Lastly, I made this project to really stretch my creativity. I mean...a feather on a card???

I used my one and only Smooch Spritz to color the feather, which I just taped to the card under the punch-out flower, which I popped up on two different sizes of Pop-Dots (so that the flower is tilted).

Well, thanks for hopping along with me!
Next you're in for a real treat with Ruthie from September Ninth!

V-day card #3!

I think this is my best project so far...I got the idea for this Joy Fold Card from a tutorial video on SplitCoastStampers.com- I've gotten so much inspiration from them!

I made the card while I was hanging out with Alex and Ruthie during their Popcorn, PJ's and Projects U-Stream- I credit their enthusiasm and laughter with my wonderful results!

I used my Martha Stewart edge punch (I love it so!) on just a little strip of gray textured cardstock, then inked it all over with a silver pigment ink, so that it just kinda sparkles all over! All of the images are stamps from Studio G that I get in the dollar bins at Craft Warehouse; I just cut them out and put them on pop dots. The twine is just cording I picked up in the jewelery section at Michaels. The pink cardstock is a non-textured pearl/metallic paper, and on the inside the white cardstock is textured and pearlized. All of the paper I got from Michaels or JoAnns.

I hope you like it as much as I do!

V-Day Card the Second!

I made this card because I had an idea to do a card with a kitten and I wanted to make my first Easel card, so I whipped this up!

I used Create-a-Critter for the kitten (at 3") and the pillow (which I think I cut at 1 1/2") and the phrase on the front of the card (purrfect), and Plantain Schoolbook for the inside sentiment ("for me"). I glittered up the whiskers and around each of the letters, and over the pillow with my Sakura Stardust pen. For the inside, I used a Cuddlebug edge folder and then cut around it to make it a border that holds the card open!

Easel cards are so fun- I'm gunna be making a lot more of 'em!

Valentines Day Card #1

This is the first Valentine's day card I made this year. I made it for a challenge for Stamp Club at Craft Warehouse, and I love the way it turned out! We were given the Stamp stickers, the Brown card, and the hearts.

I used a twinkle brad to attach the hearts, and a Martha Stewart edge punch for the bottom border, and inked the crap out of everything! Quite satisfied with this!
